Easter Sunday was not at all like we expected. We were not able to present the Gospel through a production like we had the year before. The pastoral staff wanted to use artistic ways to worship God (ex. a dance, a small children's skit ect.) during the service to make this particular Sunday stand out.
The week before Easter Sunday the dance that was scheduled, the small skit and the video that were going to be used were cancelled by the people who were going to do them. So the service was stripped down to the very basics: worship, a song "special", communion, short videos as visual aid, and the Word.
That morning, Missionary Steve felt in his Spirit that God wanted to allow His word to shine through.
After that service a proud mom gleamed as she told us this story:
That week her daughter had given her life to the Lord. Easter service began and the worship didn't even move her heart, but then as the "special" song "Arise My Love" began, the young woman heard God tell her to "arise my love". Her head dropped into her hands and tears began streaming down her face. The mother could hear her daughter speaking but didn't understand what she was saying. The daughter looked at her mom and asked 'what was happening?' The mom softly said, 'you have just been baptized with God's precious Holy Spirit.'
